Sam Djahanbani focuses his practice on complex transactional, corporate, and tax matters in the entertainment industry. He has advised actors, producers, directors, executives, production companies, talent management companies, comedians, influencers, and other entertainment professionals and businesses on a wide array of transactional matters, including joint ventures, M&A, equity financings, music catalog sales, equity incentive grants, brand deals, and endorsement deals.
Sam works closely with clients to identify effective tax planning solutions and to draft and negotiate key business transaction documents, including operating agreements, employment agreements, purchase agreements, and commercial agreements. He brings a unique blend of tax and entertainment experience, having previously served as a senior tax accountant at a prominent Los Angeles accounting firm and an intern at Lionsgate Entertainment while in law school.
Sam has been selected for Variety’s Dealmakers Report and was featured twice in Variety’s Legal Impact Report. He received his J.D. from USC Gould School of Law, where he earned the Law Alumni Award for maintaining the highest scholastic average among his graduating class. Sam graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. from UCLA and holds a M.B.T. from USC Leventhal School of Accounting.
