Representative Experience
In her sophisticated and diverse transactional practice, Kate advises and represents closely held companies, private equity funds, and their portfolio companies and assists them in structuring and executing deals on the best possible terms and in line with their growth and investment strategies. She often acts as lead counsel in mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, divestitures, secured and unsecured financings, corporate restructurings (both in and out of bankruptcy), joint venture formations, and other strategic transactions.
Her work for private equity funds and their portfolio companies has given Kate extensive knowledge of a considerable array of industries, including telecommunications, luxury goods, media, agriculture, information technology, and early education. For some clients, Kate serves as lead outside counsel, advising on day-to-day legal concerns, commercial agreements, governance matters, and employment issues, among others.
Before and during law school, Kate spent eight years with the Health Research and Educational Trust of the American Hospital Association, where she managed business development and directed funding campaigns and other strategic investment activities.
