Eisner, LLP Partner Owen Sloane and Senior Counsel Courtney Dillaplain secured a victory in a royalties lawsuit for their client Jay Livingston Music, Inc., the publisher of approximately 800 musical compositions, including the Oscar-winning song “Que Sera Sera” and the themes from “Bonanza” and “Mr. Ed.”

The lawsuit had been brought against their client over alleged exploitation of musical compositions and the validity of copyright termination notices. Owen and Courtney actively consulted with local Nashville attorneys throughout the litigation, and prepared and filed the copyright termination notices and assignments that were the basis for the lawsuit and which were upheld as valid in the court’s decision in dismissing the case.
