Zehra Abdi joins Eisner, LLP as a Senior Counsel in our Entertainment group, and will be based in our New York office. Zehra’s experience includes representing a variety of networks, production companies, podcasters and other content creators, and counseling clients in all aspects of entertainment, media, and intellectual property law including copyright, trademark, defamation, rights of publicity, and privacy matters.

Zehra regularly negotiates and drafts talent, rights acquisition, and licensing agreements, performs clearance reviews of trademarks and creative content, and advises on risk. She has extensive experience protecting and enforcing clients’ intellectual property rights including litigating copyright and trademark disputes.

Prior to joining the firm, Zehra was a sole practitioner through her own firm. She earned her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and received her B.A. from Barnard College, Columbia University. Zehra also has a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education, and has taught high school in the New York City public school system. She is passionate about teaching and empowering artists, creatives and small businesses.
